Creative Director & Lead Technical Designer

Retribution is a third-person point and click game Kiwi Crème Productions.

In this project I collaborated with my team of 6 to ensure that we were able to create an experience that fun and entertaining with interesting mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement the first playable level

  • Created 5 systems and assisted with the creation of 2+ systems Weapon system, upgrade station, player movement, unlocking new characters and character switching

  • Ensure that content being created was cohesive with the environment that game takes place in

Main lessons learned

  • Constant communication with the artists is important to have a cohesive art style.

  • The communication between programmers is important for faster development of features

  • Playtesting throughout different stages of development with outside players can help show issues with systems early on so that they can be adjusted.
